My mission
It is with passion and dedication that I devote my professional life to helping people live their lives and love their dear ones with a little more satisfaction and a little less complication.
My own personal experience, and my work with people who are suffering teaches me over and over again how we are able to transform our pain and hurt in the presence of a person who truly listens. Being a witness to this process is a humbling and powerful experience.
Although the process of 'getting unstuck' and moving forward is not always easy, it is certainly not without humor, playfulness and joy. It is an experience I would wish anyone who currently feels at a loss or is suffering.
My personal and professional experience has taught me that as each person is unique, it does not make sense to approach each person with a one-size-fits-all approach. I offer an approach tailored to the uniqueness of each subject. Or better, an approach and a place that allows you to create your own fit. Dressed in your own fit, you will fit even in places where you thought you would never fit before!

My credentials
Originally from Belgium I have been living in Chico, CA since 2002. I was educated as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Ghent, Belgium and I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. I am currently licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California.
I have had experience in various clinical settings working with children and adults on both continents since 1999. I have a special interest in psychotherapeutic work with children and specifically with the young, preschool-aged child and in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults.
I offer an approach that is unique for this area as I integrate clinical traditions from both continents in my work with children and adults.
I have been involved for many years and stay engaged in continued formation within the Lacanian* field of psychoanalysis. I continue my training and formation on an ongoing basis with national and international leaders in the field.
I also have an educational background in Philosophy and Social Sciences. And while preparing for licensure in California I ran an early childhood education program, 'The Mulberry School' in Chico for several years.
*Lacanian Psychoanalysis is prominent in Europe and South America. Currently interest is growing in the US, with an increasing numbers of schools, and conferences dedicated to Lacanian Psychoanalysis, and with a new peer reviewed journal ‘Culture/Clinic’ being launched in 2013 by the University of Minnesota press.
